From San Francisco
Cross the Golden Gate Bridge and drive North on Highway 101 to the city of Santa Rosa. Take the River Road/Guerneville exit. As you exit, stay to the right and make a right turn onto Mark West Springs Road. Continue driving on Mark West Springs Road until it becomes Porter Creek Road. Continue driving on Porter Creek Road until it ends at Petrified Forest Road. Make a left turn onto Petrified Forest Road. You will see the entrance to the Petrified Forest 1/2 mile down the road on your left. The drive from San Francisco to the Petrified Forest will take approximately 90 minutes.

From Oakland
Cross the Richmond San Rafael Bridge. Drive North on Highway 101 to the city of Santa Rosa. Take the River Road/Guerneville exit. As you exit, stay to the right and make a right turn onto Mark West Springs Road. Continue driving on Mark West Springs Road until it becomes Porter Creek Road. Continue driving on Porter Creek Road until it ends at Petrified Forest Road. Make a left turn onto Petrified Forest Road. You will see the entrance to the Petrified Forest 1/2 mile down the road on your left. The drive from Oakland to the Petrified Forest will take approximately 90 minutes.

From Santa Rosa

Drive South on Highway 12. Just before the Saint Francis Shopping Center, make a left turn onto Calistoga Road. Continue on Calistoga Road until it becomes Petrified Forest Road. Continue on Petrified Forest Road. You will see the entrance to the Petrified Forest 1/2 mile down the road on your left. The drive from Santa Rosa to the Petrified Forest will take approximately 30 minutes.

From Sonoma

Drive North on Highway 12 toward the city of Santa Rosa. Just past the Saint Francis Shopping Center, make a right turn onto Calistoga Road. Follow Calistoga Road for about 10 miles. Calistoga Road will become Petrified Forest Road. Continue driving on Petrified Forest Road. You will see the entrance to the Petrified Forest 1/2 mile down the road on your left. The drive from Sonoma to the Petrified Forest will take approximately 45 to 60 minutes.

From St Helena

Drive North on Highway 128 toward the town of Calistoga. One mile past Calistoga, make a left turn from Highway 128 onto Petrified Forest Road. Follow Petrified Forest Road for approximately 4 miles and you will see the entrance to the Petrified Forest on your right. The drive from St Helena to the Petrified Forest will take approximately 40 minutes.

From Calistoga
Drive north on Highway 128. One mile past Calistoga, make a left turn from Highway 128 onto Petrified Forest Road. Follow Petrified Forest Road for approximately 4 miles. You will see the entrance to the Petrified Forest on your right. The drive from Calistoga to the Petrified Forest will take approximately 15 minutes
